I suppose I could have dumped this in one of the existing global warming or energy conservation threads, but it seemed big enough to warrant a home of its own.

I must have missed this before - surely there were stories about the incident in 2005, but intersting to see the aerial shot of how much its moved, and the thought of a few billion tons of ice becoming ocean kind of destroys my previous dismissals of concerns about rising ocean levels.

Plenty of pun material for those so inclined - from 'I'll take Manhattan' to 'What Ayles thee?' - with loads of room for others in between (let alone the one that labels the thread).
