We're back from our big Labor Day weekend camping trip. We do this every year; we get together with three other families, reserve several spots at the end of a campground loop at a local state park, cook lots of yummy food, let the kids run wild and get filthy, and we drink a lot of beer.
Our campground has a chili cook-off every year. I entered last year but didn't win anything. This year we had 5 entries just within our own group - lots of trash-talking between us. My hubby made white chicken chili, and I made my usual spicy red chili recipe.
So they announced 1st place - some old guy who had been doing it for years; his chili wasn't that great and I suspect they just wanted him to finally win. Which is fine, he's a nice guy.
Then they said there was a tie for 2nd place and they worried how to break up the prizes, then realized it was a husband and wife. So here we are, looking around, wondering what other husband and wife entered the contest...oh, it's us.

Yep, hubby and I won 2nd place. Whoohoo!!!
We'll be doing it again at a different campground at the end of October. One of our friends won 1st place there last year, I won 3rd. I think this year we'll switch.
