Westboro Baptist church picket schedule

If you don't know who they are, then count your lucky stars. This "Christian church" is pathetic and disgusting. I've been working to ignore them, but that is probably not the right action to take. With people like these tho, with their heads so far up their leader's ass, there is probably no right course of action.
Anyway this little article in the Dailybeast reminded me of Westboro Baptist church.

Gay 'Therapy' Doesn't Work

Sorry, religious right: The Associated Press reports that a six-member American Psychological Association panel reviewed 83 studies on sexual-orientation change conducted since 1960. The panel's report led the APA to vote 125-to-4 on a resolution repudiating "reparative therapy," a treatment espoused by a small group of therapists and religious conservatives who believe that gay men and women can change their sexual orientation. Evidently, some research suggests that reparative therapy can induce depression and suicidal tendencies. However, for clients who believe their sexual orientation conflicts with their faith the APA has endorsed a new approach to homosexuality that may annoy some gay-rights groups. The Associated Press writes that the APA "urged therapists to consider multiple options, which could include celibacy and switching churches."

So then I did some goofing off and found the picket schedule for Westboro Baptist Church. It might be interesting to keep an eye on where they are/will be, if they're near you might want to attend their demonstrations personally. I know I would love to. They will be in San Antonio 8/7-8/9, but I can't get there.

Of special note they will be protesting the memorial of Pfc. Matthew W. Wilson Aug 19 in Arlington Virginia. A specially vile and disgusting thing to do in my opinion. Link to that:
