Mum was making suggestions of ways to make my place better, specifically the kitchen (which is ludicrously tiny). She suggested this thing to go over the top of the cooker, which would make it into an extra work surface:
"So you'll have all that extra space for when you're baking..." she says. I responded "Sorry, have we met?"
