Steady mobbin'

From KansasCity.com today:

Quote:
Following mayhem Saturday night on the Country Club Plaza, Kansas City Mayor Sly James sent out a letter today about a possible new citywide curfew.

...

The city’s current curfew is midnight on weekends and 11 p.m. the rest of the week. But talk of a possible 9 p.m. curfew gained traction after the three teens were injured. The mayor was at the Plaza assessing the crowd situation Saturday night, and his bodyguards pushed him to the ground as they heard shots ring out.
From NBC Philadelphia Saturday:

Quote:
Police say that 50 minors were picked up Friday night in Philly for violating the city's new curfew law.

A 9 p.m. curfew for anyone under the age of 18 began in the city.

It's part of an effort from Philadelphia Police to prevent teen mobs and the vandalism and violence that has come with them,
Apparently there were similar issues earlier this year in St. Louis' Delmar Loop...haven't heard much since.

The curfews are a good start, but only Band-Aids until the more serious and systemic issues are addressed.
