I had to put this here to get under the 10,000 character limit.

The important and interesting points I get from this:

1. Dissatisfaction with the current system is an "Emperor's new clothes" situation. Finally people are realising that there are LOTS of other people, normal people with jobs and homes and stuff, who aren't happy with the way things are being run.

2. What people believe is at least as important as what is actually true. Which is why media is so important, and why media freedom is important.

3. Rebellions succeed or fail depending on whether the army/police/secret police are willing to do mass killings of their own people.

Oh, and Merc ... sorry for what this just did to your blood pressure.
