How do you hide a FB friend's crazy talk on your newsfeed or timeline or whatever?

A few years ago an ex GF contacted me on LinkedIn. It had been almost 20 years since we split up so I replied to her. That was about three years ago. When I signed up for FB I wasn't careful enough when I let it scour my email addresses and it sent an invite to her. Now we are FBfriends and I get these semi- regular emails about how I was the love of her life. (I think I mentioned this elsewhere on the cellar) anyway, she's cooled out with that but is now responding to way too many of my posts. I would like to make her invisible to other people on my newsfeed/timeline or whatever. Is there a way to do that? I would rather not unfriend her because she'd just email me incessantly or decide that she needs to come see me.
