Someone Else's Favorite Band
My mind wandered last night to the surprising number of big concerts I've attended because they were someone else's favorite and I was obliged to tag along. In chronological order:
Foo Fighters George Strait Pet Shop Boys Legendary Pink Dots In addition, I saw Sugar Ray only because a friend and I loved the band that was opening for them, and she convinced me the 20 minute set would still be worth the bigger band's ticket price. Do other people do this a lot, or is it an indicator of how much I subsumed my own personality in my youthful relationships? As far as tickets I've bought for myself, it's been musical theatre or stand up comedy almost every time. |
