Tourism tends to be all about the Dollars, be they Aussie or American.
Tip well and the people will love you. I would be more concerned about things like the nightclub bombings than being snubbed by waiters. Overall, what are the odds of something happening, really? 1:10,000? 1:100,000? Go, have fun.
