Awesome question. I think the answer must lie somewhere in the fact that we are inherently gregarious (there's a high-falutin' phrase if ever there was one). We're so inclined to build societies that we never really think about why we do it, whether it's a good idea, etc.
When things are universal even amongst remote tribes, I have to think it's because some behaviors are hard-wired into our brains. |
