Because he is an ass and his family is making an INSANE amount of jack off of it... so, to him, it is a great thing because he does not care about anything else. If he did, his actions would be different.

It can't be as simple as that. What kind of "jack" are they making? I'm confused. Do you mean money? He has stock in Halliburton and Tyco? Like he needs more "Jack?" I'll agree that he is an ass, but I truly think he is nuts, actually dellusional.

But this does beg the question: What, exactly, does he "care" about? That's a hard question to answer, at least that's what I think.
