I hate anything with an aniseed flavour. Sounds like something you could easily avoid, but you'd be amazed how often good restaurants cook fish with fennel or add Pernod to pork. Grim.

I also hate cucumber - which means I often check check and recheck salad or salad sandwich ingredients. My Mum is still amazed if I order a salad - she thinks I am still 10 and refusing to eat salad because it consists of raw tomato, limp lettuce and a big pile of cucumber. And Heinz Salad Cream - which has a great advert at the moment, but is still revolting.

That reminds me. I can't stand cilantro. I can deal with iit f used very sparingly, but not much. There is an "authentic" Mexican restaurant (no, not Taco Hell) in town that uses mostly that in its salsa.

But I know those who adore it.
