I'm no longer terribly excited about Obama. The FISA vote ended any fantasy that he would trim back the Executive branch. He's still my generation which I think makes him more sensible on foreign policy because he isn't wed to the 1960's construct of false patriotism. We can't afford another 8 years of early boomer politics. The biggest potential problem I see with an Obama Presidency is a Democrat Congress which would behave as the Republican Congress did "under" Bush. At first blush, Obama seems more willing to work out a real energy policy which for me is a big part of being a positive player on the world stage.
