Well, you must be pretty dark then. My boys have darkish skin but it's pretty clear when they're blushing.

My Uncle and family are in Brisbane, so we've been following the news. Really shocked to hear about how hard it's hit. Good for you that you were considering on the ground help - I'd say if you could do it - do, do it. But you're pregnant, have kids and Dazza is away - funds are the best you can do in my opinion.

Glad you and yours are safe - I mentioned you to Mum as soon as we heard (I'm always hazy on where people are in Oz due to the HUGE geography). I also mentioned UG when I heard of the California fires, but the news (perhaps incorrectly) implied it was the multi million pound households that were going up - my sympathy to them of course, but they are far better suited to starting again than the average man in the street.

Thanks SG. We're all fine here though, although I'm hoping I'll be able to travel into Bris ok this arvy to get the kids (and go shopping with my g/f before that. lol)

If I wasn't preggers I'd be over helping out. Even if i was under normal circumstances I would but apparently I have ligament damage (thanks to the bad cold I had a month or so ago) in my stomach area so no lifting at all for me anyway.

Everyone thinks I am blue blooded, including my parents - Mum called me a changeling tonight on the phone, after a misunderstanding with the heating system. she said, "You've been without heating since we left?!" (on Sunday)

I only called her because I was worried about their OAP cat.

Some areas of Brisbane recieved up to a further 10 inches last night. I don't think we would have had quite that much, but if we get the storms that are forecast for tonight, our little villiage will be cut off which means no school for the kids tomorrow.

I can't tell you how much they're praying for rain today.

On the up side, even though there was a lot of rain last night, there was no where near the devastation caused by the high winds we had on Sunday.

I've just looked up what rain we had last night, and it was somewhere between 4 and 5 inches.

How far inland is that rain going? Is it addressing any droughts?
