Neither is the word Abices. Spell checker won't let me get away with it. Writing "Abacuses" bothers me.........Dana has a great view on this topic about root words and transformations, as it used to be Apices which is much closer to the way, I want to spell it.

When I write "Abacuses" it's comparable to the feeling of nails across a chalkboard. This closes the discussion before I have to write it again and annoy myself.
