Well, yes on the 69 HP per liter displacement - but that is only true for SOME Corvettes:

The results are in from the 2009 ZR1's SAE certification: the 376 cubic inch supercharged LS9 V-8 makes 638 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque.

That's 169 HP per liter, and sports cars are SUPPOSED to use up a lot of fuel.

By next year, I'll be running mine on "sea water" from the Gulf of Mexico.
