Faggot is also used as a word for gay men here too. Or fag. But yes, it is also used to mean the food, pieces of wood for the fire, and a bunch of other stuff. The practice of having younger boys act as servants to older boys in boarding school is/was known as 'fagging' and the younger boys were known as 'fags' not 'faggots'.
