Not only should it be moved, they should put up padded railings on both sides of the path to keep people from straying. Maybe a railing down the middle to avoid head-ons... with wifi hot spots at both ends... and sheep dogs to shepherd pedestrians... and mounted cowboys with lariats to catch anyone in danger.
