Diz is six years old.
In cat terms he is in his forties.

But tonight he was acting like a six year old child and refusing to go to bed.
Here he is on the sofa bed in the spare room, refusing to go into my bedroom and sleep, because I was in here. He kept dozing off then waking up, dozing off, waking up. "I'm not tired!"

Cat shift changes at 20.00 usually, but I might put him away sooner - Mia would love to be outside in this weather (Indian Summer here) whereas Diz will happily sleep if he can't see me.

Ohmigod she's gorgeous. Look at those eyes!

Pilau is currently snoozing at my feet. At some point it'[s about time I took another pic of him. But given how much he hates cameras I'm usually loathe to disturb him.

Can't believe what a podge he'd become under his fur. Now it's all been chopped off he looks like a barrel on legs. Poor lamb. 'S not his fault. I'm the one giving him too many guilt biscuits. He just can't exercise like he used to.

Thanks guys. She's a good dog. She's had diabetes since she was 2 (she's 9 now) and I give her insulin shots twice a day. She is now blind for the most part but she still gets around fairly well with the occasional bumping into a wall. I give her an extra pat on the head when that happens.

This isn't MY pet, but I love him so much he may as well be. He is my dog-nephew...the dog-brother of my lovely nieces (dog-son of their wonderful parents.)

What do you note in this picture? Do you see that the dog has a pet cat? Look more closely. THERE it is!

They live on mucho acreage, and have farm cats who hang around, but those are all varying degrees of black and white. This tabby came out of nowhere, and my brother reports the kitten was outside yelling her head off. The middle girl (ahhhh, are not middle children uniquely in tune with living creatures?) pondered that the cat wanted "JIM" (name changed to protect the identity of the Dog...he had his identity stolen last year and it took FOREVER to clear his name of the strip joint/murder allegations) so they let JIM out.

The two have been friends ever since.

Yep..."I wish I could turn and live with the animals, they are so placid and self-contain'd."

The kitty looks quite content.

Safe. Safe at last.

Brother says the other cats hate the kitten (he's sure it's racial) so I'm glad JIM is there for her.
