"Shall I give you a kiss?" Peter asked and, jerking an acorn button off his coat, solemnly presented it to her.

Catharsis is good for the soul. It's the ultimate in 'getting it off your chest' and that's important.

I've had a few of those myself recently, and without them I'd still be about 10 steps behind where I need to be.

Cancer sux. I'm sorry for your friend too monster. The docs didn't want to tell Mum the truth about her cancer either. When my brother and I confronted them about it, they said that if they tell people how long they've got, that's usually how long they last.

Apparently the implication is that the brain is a lot more powerful than we give it credit for. Either that or the doctors know everything.

I know which one I believe.

My other friend with breast cancer who is very very terminal has been getting six-month or less sentences for the last 6 years. She'd come for lunch with no hair and say "well they said I've got 6 month but there's this one new drug I can try...." Last year she got another 6 monther and moved to Cali to be near her family for when the time came.

At the beginning of summer we got an email from her sister -she broke her leg and they couldn't operate because they found the cancer was in her lungs (it was already pretty much everywhere else and she's been on chemo all the time I've known her.) Well anyway, they sent her home to die in May and gave her 3 weeks. she's still going. i hope her quality of life is still good. She never got down about it that we saw.

Menopause AND periods, damn, that sounds unfair.

[Thinks positively about Y-chromosome].
