Polo Boy was just named to the post-season team. That's the official final Varsity team, so unless he screws up behaviorally, he'll letter. He might not play much in the districts (and regionals and states, if they get that far) .... but he's turning into a pretty solid defensive player despite being itsy bitsy. If they make it to states, Swimmer Girl's sign will have to move over to make way for a second one.... but there's a long road to travel before that happens...

Flashy players make coaches nervous because, although they have to play them, but they tend to get hurt. Having a solid reliable back-up is a coaches godsend.
Tough on the back-up because they get thrown into the middle of a hot game, cold. No chance to warm up physically or mentally, just go flat out... right now. Good for him.

Them polo boys just became District Champions! ..... next weekend, Regionals.... if they win the first game against the lowest seed from the other district, Swim Girl's State Sign will have to make room for another!

Nope.

#1 not me in charge

#2 only the girls swim and dive do personalized hand-made signs. Wapo of both genders get them printed -the girls get all the names put on (and always misspell one) not sure if the names are always on the boys. I think last year it was an eagle in a speedo, but that could've been swim&dive

Well that's a relief, I had visions of you out in the cold painting signs, up to your keister in snow.

ooh I never posted a pic of his sign. Anyway, just stopped in to say here endeth my high school swim mom career. probably. States are over, Hebe finally got to swim on the medley relay team and they came second. She didn't do as well as she hoped in the breaststroke but still came in 11th, and she didn't return after prelims for the 200free, but it was the first time she went for that at States (gave up on the IM). Team came second overall and -the drama- were outtouched into second place in the final relay -had they come first, they would have been state champions
