I know....I just don't get what context would involve being both yellow and dead....I am probably being incredibly dense. It's been a tough day :P

I think that it just happens to be yellow. Real dead usually involves being sort of ashy gray, unless you've really been dead for a while, which involves some browns and greens and such.

yeldead also probably distinguishes the smiley from gratefuldead.
