(finally posting vacation pics)

On the day we started driving home, we saw this awesome orange dragster just driving down the road, parachute and all. Completely coincidentally, and 400 miles later, I saw a sign for the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing, in Ocala. Pictured below, my kids learn the truth about who "The King" is (not just a character from Disney/Pixar's Cars), and some oddities including a supercharged lawnmower and a dragster powered by a V-12 Allison engine from a World War II P-40 fighter plane (1700 cubic inches, produces 2000 HP on straight gasoline).

On the drive home, the girl nonchalantly reads a newspaper.

We finally make it back to Texas, and the kids are thrilled to be playing with their regular toys again.

One of the few times I enjoyed watching someone's "vacation slides".

Finally some long awaited vacation pics in your "vacation thread" that has been collecting dust. It is great to see so many shots. The sunrise is amazing and we have a science playground and a carousel here that looks just like that. Almost.

It looks like you had a great time and like classic said, your kids are adorable.

Your kids look so much like both you and Pooka! Darling!

From the reflection I thought that was a pen in the girl's hand, I thought "she's not just reading a newspaper, she's doing the NYT crossword!"

Thanks for the pics.

Thank you for the positive comments, everybody.

Sorry about the crappy compression on some of these images, but I was experimenting with building vertical panoramas at a reasonable pixel width, and then compressing to a set KB limit with the RIOT plugin in Irfanview. Note that when there is no border, you are looking at a single image.

Look for more vacation photos to show up in other threads, as applicable.
