Online Shopping Challenge.

Swimmer Girl has decided to go for the county summer swim league 50y breaststroke record this year (It's fast, but doable). I promised her a shiny practice suit if she gets it. (usually going for $20-$30 locally) Trouble is she's found and set her heart on one that is discontinued. Which is great if you're tiny or huge -it's only $15ish. But the size 28s are few and far between and are $43.70 with standard shipping. From stores I have never dealt with. (And in fact seem to me to be the same store) Of course, I will pay this if I have to, but I'd rather not. i like the $15 clearance price. So your challenge is to find a Finals (brand) Pink Panther (style) blue/purple (color) 28 (size) women's suit for less

The stores I have found it for that price are Lenny Krayzesomething, Swim2000 and TheSwimMall.

WANT.
I probably class as huge (UK size 18 top/16 bottom). What would that be in American?

I did a search for ones over here but it doesn't seem like that brand is available here. Sorry.

The problem (for me) with these suits is no built in bra. This is not generally a problem for young lady swimmers.

Do you find the sizing to be at all accurate?

I just tried to buy a Speedo online, and chose a size 34 based on an equivalent sizing chart, actually thinking I might officially be a 32 but wanting to err on the side of comfort because I'm not trying to win any speed records here.

I could barely get the goddamn thing over my hips at all, and when it was on I looked like a squashed sausage. It was insane. If I bother getting a replacement, I'll be going up to a 38 at least, maybe a 40.

Except now I'm gun shy and figure I should just get one locally after all, where I can try them on for real. But where does one do that? All the places I know are only selling the two-piece/halter-top/look-at-me-but-don't-get-me-wet kind. You know, the kind that falls right off when the terrified 6 year old grabs the shit out of you because he thought for a second he might sink after all.

I got my big-breasted-woman one [new] from eBay.
When you get to my size they ALL have built in bras. And they are not sold in sports shops.

Never really thought about it. They wear them ridiculously tight, sizes for competitive suits are consistent within brands, we know she's a 28 in a Finals Funkies, a Speedo and a Dolfin Uglie. TYR is different (and usually a nasty fit). We get through a lot of suits..... And we know the sizes because originally she tried them on....... when they start to get impossible, we move up.

her tech Suit is a 23, though

I wear Speedo, but the "adult" suit which come in regular clothing sizes and yes, I guess I find them accurate because my suit size is the same as my clothing size.

i think this is the one I have

....yes it is the one I have. Ultra conservative! hehehe. I note that it highlights "True-to-size-fit" as one of its features.

Thanks, I'll give that one a try. The inset bra will also be much appreciated. But I am so sad at the color options. How many damn shades of blue do we need?

FUCKERS

I knew it. I ordered it, paid for it online -they don't even have it in stock. they take three days to let me know, and then plan to hold onto my money and keep it on back-order unless I reply within 24 hours of their email. Back-order which is never going to be filled. I know the suit is discontinued, why don't they? It's supposed to be their damn business. Never Ever order from Swim2000, people. I believe the other two stores mentioned above are actually the same business, so I would avoid them too.

Get on the phone to your credit card company ASAP.

Amazon.com has several of the Finals suits, not that one, but a bunch that look very, very cool.
