t-20 mins to kick off.

although i'm a staunch cowboys fan, and eagles hater, I have to admit that I'm rooting for them. since tha colts were dusted by the pats, I'd like to see them finally get there and win it.

my prediction for today:

27-13 Iggles.

Watching McNabb scramble and fire off a successful pass even as he was falling forward, I am again reminded of why I think Rush Limbaugh is a huge horses ass.

I get so tired of people alluding that Rush is somehow a racist. Rush doesn't hate blacks. I'm sure that he thinks everyone should own one.

Yep. The Pats didn't win the game, the Steelers lost it. It was classic Belichik though. Cower got out-coached.

Now, I have to root for the Eagles, but lets face it the NFC teams just are not that competitive. A non-rookie qb would have done much better against last nights scheme but who knows what they're gonna throw at Philly? New England's pass defense is still very beatable...

I haven't followed the NFL this year as closely as I ususally do, but I gotta go with the Patriots 35-17. Although it would be nice to see the Eagles get a win. Too bad there isn't some kind of "cyber wager" we can put on this....hmmmm.

Nice article about local legend George Toma, who is the only guy to have ever been in charge of the turf for Super Bowls.

Toma pretty much invented the modern science of groundskeeping, and has been in charge of Kansas City's professional athletic fields since I was a wee lad. One of his early hallmarks was making his groundskeepers actually *train* for the between-inning spruceups of the infield. His kids sprinted out onto the field, changed the bases out for clean ones, did a quick dirt dragging, and sprinted off again, all in about 30 seconds. When the rain began to fall, his guys got the tarps out under the judgement of a stopwatch, and their new records were announced over the PA.

George Toma is *the* man in groundskeeping, and we've been fortunate to have him as our local guy for as long as I can remember.
