Cool Linux Help

I know someone here can help me.....
I recently came across a copy of the new release of Red Hat...and though I have never used Linux before, I have decided to dabble a bit into it. The installation concerne me though. While I do not want to install it into a newly created partition on my XP box, I do have an external (USB) hard drive. Is their a way in which I can install it there, and run it from there? Or would I still have to boot it from that external drive? HELP!!!

You'll have to boot from internal

AFAIK you have to boot from internal if your BIOS does not support booting from USB devices.

Some newer BIOS's can be tricked into it, especially the Sony VAIO laptops.
