I really love golf, although I suck worse than a donkey with a pitching wedge, but I always feel compelled to point out that golf spelled backwards is flog.

I know I haven't been around long enough to hijack a thread but it's my last day on the job and I feel like wasting time.
The question on everybody's lips is How can you call golf a sport? Which, in turn, begs the question What can be classified as a sport. NASCAR, horse racing, individual vs. team events? IMO there has to be some sort of cardiovascular/aerobic activity. Hey, maybe you guys don't even care if it's called a sport or not. Hadn't considered that. |

Cardiovascular is exercise. Sport is any activity in which someone competes against someone else...IMHO.

Hell, forget Quake. I compete when I MUD; it's a sport! And Counterstrike! And I compete with the twits who try to pass me, by trumping their safe-passing-on-the-left rights by just riding on the left! BIKING IS A SPORT!

Looks like Webster is pretty generous with their definition.
1a. a source of diversion 1c. physical activity engaged in for pleasure (I'm skipping over 1b cause the thread might go on an unwholesome tangent) But then there's definition #5: "an individual exhibiting a sudden deviation from type beyond the normal limits of individual variation usually as a result of mutation especially of somatic tissue" really???? So I guess I need to let golf off the hook. But I still think there are better ways to spend a sunny day and still have enough money left over for a nice bottle of Cuervo.
