Sorry. I'm obsessed.
This is the other side. This is a modern Brazilian VW kombi bus. Probably less than ten years old. The floor frame is pretty straight behind the front wheels. My understanding of the VW buses made in Brazil is that they have coolant running from the front black radiator back to the engine, they have a gear shift lever between the front seats that connects to a fairly small rigid rod that runs under the floor back to the transmission. Maybe if it is an automatic transmission, that's actually a wire and not a metal rod. Not sure. There are brake lines that go back there to the brakes, and if it's a manual transmission, there is a clutch cable running back to the clutch. Other than that, there is not much of importance under that floor. Perhaps there was a minor field repair done to get it to run, or perhaps there just wasn't any damage to those under-floor systems. |
