I'm a wee bit confused (nothing new there!) ... registered, validated, took me to a page suggesting I update my profile (always a good idea when a new poster - first thing I do is check out the newb's ID ) but clicking on the link from various places tells me this is verbotten.

I mean I find it intriguing that I can't tell you who I am an am a mystery until such times as I've posted sufficiently for you all to figure that out.... but it does seem a tad inefficient.

Or have I broken something already and shall hence with be turfed out on my ear?

We had an unusually bad time with spammers and made things more restrictive to keep them out, but apparently made them a bit too restrictive. And there may still be a few kinks to work out.

All that is to say that I have no idea what the problem is, but it's almost certainly not you. It's probably some glitch.

Welcome to the Cellar!

Welcome to the cellar Ocean's Edge.

Please let the record show that I resisted the urge to make a joke using the word "beach".

Tha's one.

Nor did I describe you as the tufted monocotyledonous marsh plants belonging to one of the Shen family, Scottish branch.

Well, I imagine not. I'm known in some circles as Captain Obvious.

Okay, am going mad. I need to move some messages from my Inbox to a folder I've made ("Contacts")
I have obviously done this before, as I have quite a few contacts in there.
But I am stumped as to how I did it.

Should be an easy question to answer for anyone with half a brain.
Probably doesn't help that I didbn't dleep last night and am watching Dr Who on BBC catch-up.

Tick the boxes on the right-hand side of the messages you want to move. At the bottom of the page, on the right again, is a box that says "Move to folder..." Just hit GO and it will ask you where to move the messages you've ticked.

Or you can use 'ctrl' to select particular emails out of a list of emails (you can skip around, basically) or you can select emails in series by using 'shift' and clicking on the first and last you want to move. Then you just right click and drag...all your selections will follow along being, and 'drop' it into your new folder.

I have a question.

Some time ago I posted a song I really liked. I can't remember what it was or really much about it. I know someone (Dana I think) commented on it too.

Is there a way to search for my own posts in a particular thread?
