Hell, I think I did it last weekend. More than once. Just don't be an idiot to do it where you are going to take the risk of being caught.

Oh I am sure that in that crowd there were many before him who marked the territory. Like I stated earlier, he just got caught.

While peeing behind the pub isn't such a great drama in my opinion, it just goes to the mindset of these players. Surely they've all been warned to keep their noses clean for the time being at least, and yet the very next week Willy Mason is draining the vein in public. lol What a dick!
These are the things that shit me though, why should he get fined/treated any differently than what the *law* says? Sure, penalise him to the max of the law, but I dont think he should be held to a higher standard for pissing in public, than the next yobbo.

Because when they sign up to be a player in the NRL, they agree to a code of conduct. I guess pissing in public isn't in the acceptable public behaviour bit.

More news from Cronulla (the club at the centre of this particular scandal):

Female staffer is "paid off after being accidentally hit in the face by club executive".

Young player fails an in house drug test after taking performance enhancing drugs.

The club has lost most of its sponsors now and looks likely to fold.

Not really a good comparison. Animal cruelty vs. pissing in public that is.

I was referring more towards being punished by the league for actions off the field, but yeah you're right two apples from very different sides of the tree.

It still comes down to a code of conduct though, and most sporting stars sign one when they agree to being paids lots of dosh for their talents.

It seems not all Aussies are outraged.

Shocked as older Australians may be at those sordid details, however, events under their noses are more likely to shake them. Many teenagers and young adults have turned the free-sex mantra of the 1970s into a lifestyle, and older generations simply don't have a clue.

Group sex may still be fringe, but a fair proportion of sexually active teenagers and young adults interviewed last week have been involved in threesomes, or know of friends who have.

Oh there's always been a pretty free attitude towards sex over here. I don't think people are outraged about footballers having group sex. It's that it just seems that there are a quite a number of women coming forward saying it was not consensual. That they thought they were going to have sex with one or maybe two players. Not the whole team.

But it's not just about the sex. It's all the other off field behaviour that have people pissed off. They sign up for lots of money to play footy, and in doing so, they sign up for a code of conduct also. Sponsors don't want to be associated with players who do drugs, are charged with assault, have group sex, get arrested for various other petty crimes or misdemeanors. The sponsors are the ones that've really had enough, and the NRL is in danger of losing a number of its major sponsors.
