Over at The Bosque, we use avatars, but nothing too extreme. I think my avatar of an arrested James Brown is the most "over-the-top."

You have had several over the top avatars, but the godfather of soul is the best of them.
You have a lot more control over the content though. I keep pointing out this board as the ultimate bad example ... animated avatars AND huge blinky signatures.
