June 22, 2007: Hippo as pet?!
 We've heard these ugly beasts are amongst the meanest in the animal kingdom, but there's one in South Africa that's taken to being a member of the family.  According to the full story, this beast named Jessica was hand-raised by her owner after washing up on the lawn. It was lucky she washed up on the lawn of a game ranger.  She seems to get along well with the family dogs. In fact she helped to groom the puppies:
