We don't have tivo in Australia. The closest thing to it is a package that Foxtel offers cable clients which allows you to record the shows you want to watch later. It's pretty expensive though. About $120/month. We don't have it.

Thanks. I'll have to look into this, and MythTV sounds promising. Once I figure out what TV to buy, I can move on to figuring out how to record shows now that my VCR will be worthless in a year.

I really must get into this Linux stuff. Right now, though, I just try to use as close to what I have at work as I can get.

I don't have TiVo, but if I did, I would TiVo basketball and football games, stand up comedy and Scrubs.

Scrubs is my new favorite TV show. Holy crap it is awesome--even though it's retiring.
