Jesus F. H. Spaghetti Monster you guys tripe fast! I had no idea such speeds were possible, but then I guess I never really devoted a lot of time to thinking about it. And I don't have to do it for a living.

Funny, though, we were discussing the necessity of triping skills with our sprogs just yesterday morning and I had already decided I really needed to dig out that Mavis Beacon program and practice what I preach. I guess this seals that deal, huh?

By the way I just triped this whole reply without looking at the keyboard once and was suprised to realize that my fingers actually do seem to know where the letters are now without me having to think too hard. Especially the delete key!

I only got 25 wpm... but I've been clocked at 45 when I'm free-composing something.

I just never quite got over looking at my fingers when I type. I took a typing class in school and when the teacher put a cloth over my hands, I went from excellent to gibberish.

Oh well.

32 words no errors. I have never had a typing class and it shows!

Huh, I just got 23 words per minute with zero errors, but I know I can type a little faster than that. I was having technical difficulties.

84 wpm, but I'm off my game. When I was typing professionally (instead of the occasional semi-pro stuff I do now) I was around 120 wpm.

I don't do as well at the nonsensical lists of words typing tests ... give me a paragraph to copy and I think you get a more accurate rating.

(Anybody who has been in IM with me knows how fast I type).

I suck at typing tests--always get nervous. So strange--I don't get nervous before people.

unless I have to sing.

Hi. 53 wpm at keybr.com. I think I can do much better.

I was taught to type without seeing the keys during a traumatic typing class, which I almost failed. Although I'm nowhere near professional, I tend to type without many errors, and I rarely miss my home keys.

OTOH, I'm too used to type on normal desktop keyboards. Put me in front of a laptop and I suffer. I want to buy a Model M keyboard when I have less debt.

Aren't all typing classes traumatic? (or did they club a baby seal at the beginning of class before they made you type?)

That's why I never took one.
