That is such a douche bag move on their part. I hate that shit. Now what might have been awesome! would have been to open the cassette, replace the tape with some really nasty raunchy pr0n, then send it back to them, postage due, with their return address on it.
Probably, they just pop the tape in another package and send it back out to their next mark. That would be golden.

I had an advantage, I had written a paper on that very subject in Decomposition 101 (or... Decomp.)
Of course, I was taking a small corpse load that term. |
