How about something from Ben Harper or Jack Johnson?

I can barely listen to it, , but a friend of mine does Steve Earle's "Billy Austin" solo on flattop. He speeds it up ever so slightly.

It gets me every time.

Friend's version is better than this one.

Any Green Day, but for some reason "Basket Case" jumped into my head.

Ex-housemate could play better than he could sing.
I can't judge his playing, but you sing much better.
All I know is these songs were on his playlist.

If they're way off the mark you can just buttfuck him in the mouth or something.

Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen (covered by many)
The End of the World - REM; that's a fuckload of lyrics but it wows ladies!
Romeo and Juliet - Dire Straits; see Amy Ray's version
Jailhouse Rock - if it's not part of your reeptoire already
Distant Sun - Crowded House via Barenaked Ladies Bathtub Sessions. YouTube Distant Sun Barenaked and the rest of the Bathroom Sessions will come up too - good for one man and a gittar, even if I don't recognise them.
Thank You for the Days - The Kinks

Thanks for the suggestions. including you, foot, you prick.

sorry i got pissy with you. I was just feeling pissy, I guess.

I like the Hallelujah idea. That song has a certain melancholy that is attractive.

I've been working on Hard Sun (Eddie Vedder version) and I am the Highway.

I know House of the Rising Sun, but not all the way through.

I just need to practice more and lay down whole songs. Acoustic sing a long songs is what I'm into playing right now. I have most of 'Drifting' by 4NonBlondes down.... and Shady Grove... and Lightning Crashes.

How about this guilty pleasure song:?

thing is, learning WHOLE songs requires a lot of repetition, and I get bored easy.

Cool!
Four of my suggestions are singalongs.
One is possibly obsure, but loved by other musicians.

And that leaves REM.
HM did not have your looks, your personality, your charisma or your charm.
But it still got him laid more than once.

That might not be your goal at this second, but if you put the time in to learn it you will get respect every time you play and who knows - it might just be the right song at the right time for the person you want to impress.

And no, I'm not just saying that because I want you to sing it on youtube.
Although I do
But because I can't think of a better challenge.
Fuck Ricky Sambora (or a good guitarist?) get the words right and the rest will follow.
