I have a friend whose last name is "New". His wife's name as a consequence is a palindrome.
He also has a heck of a time with people who have IQs that are around or below room temperature. He will often ask, upon entering a room, "What's new?" Anyone who responds with *giggle* *snort* "You are..." usually does not get a second chance.

I married into Petkau, is pronounced "pet-cow". I've always been proud of my spouse's family's history, but admit it sounded so strange to me at first, now its a warm source of humor. So many people start to pronounce the cow part and stop themselves in the middle of it- not quite ready to, a bit afraid to call me essentially "a cow". It mutates to koooaah, kahuuu, kohh, etc. Moo.
