Heck I've done this minus the toque.

If it's hovering around zero or a few degrees above and there is little to no wind it's no problem to shovel a few dozen metres of walk in shorts. Especially if the snow is heavy it is really easy for us heavy set guys to get over heated and start sweating. We don't need clothes at that temp any more than seals do. But extremities like hands and feet get cold hence the gloves, shoes, and socks.

My uncle lost an eye from that at 14. I think that qualifies as an assault, also.
