I was going to bring up tempura, but Jinx beat me to it .
Verry easy to make , GREAT camping food , you make up a whole batch of chicken strips or nuggets for the kids , and the adults get to eat the more exotic stuff , 'scroons , onions , squach , shrimp , eggplant , sweet potatos , etc,,,,,, Just use your imagenation
My wife REFUSES to let me make fried twinkes
If you do make tempura for lots of folks , do it out side as it is MESSY !!!!
I use a catfish cooker and a BIG ASS wok we got from a Chinese restraunt that closed down.
Oh and one more tip whear long pants and leather shoes , hot oil poping onto your leg can rune your buzz !!!!

Finally- a food that's as dangerous to cook as it is to eat.
I'm starved. Maybe I'll have a couple shots of Wesson to hold me over 'til chow. I gotta try this fried ice cream deal. Interesting. When you cut it open to eat some, I bet it turns into not -so-crispy fried coating breakfast cereal, with extra sugar deboot. Hope my grandkids dont get wind of this................

We have deep fried Mars Bars all the time here in OZ, its actually quite tasty, and if you only have a small piece.. you really dont notice the quantity of fat you would actually be taking in.

they sell them for 50 cents each here (the fun size mars, not the full size)

I was at the Longhorn Steakhouse the other day and they serve deep fried cheesecake. It is served in a big wine-snifter looking bowl with raspberry sauce at the bottom, the cheesecake looking bits mixed in with vanilla icecream, and whipped cream and cherries on the top.

OMG good.

Oh. My. Gods.

I will be going to a conference that is near a Longhorn next week.

Ooooooh.

Maybe I can go to Longhorn one night, and Chi-Chi's for the fried ice cream the next ...

No, although that reminds me I have to write down my mileage for the only type of reimbursement the nuthouse gives on stuff like that.

I have a very dear, traditionally-minded friend who sincerely believes the chick shouldn't pay for anything ...

Nasty but true

Yeah, this is far from a "look at the freaky Brits" thing. In my area (around Louisville, KY USA), street festivals fry up Twinkies, Snickers, and other wonderful things I'd rather not think about actually eating.

Although, I was told a couple years ago that I had one while I was trashed...

(Off topic... This is my first post in a couple years. Someone forwarded me the catfish eating a basketball and I remembered how freakin' great the IOTD's are!)

EDIT: Aaaaaaand... I just realized it's a three-month old post. I wonder why it sorted at the top of my list?

*sigh* I'm a newbie all over again.
