I think it's possible. I want joint custody, and the last time I talked to her about it she said she wanted to do that.

Don't trust that to remain her decision, especially after she starts talking to the lawyer.

And her girlfriends.

Oh, I don't; if we can't reach an agreement out of court, my parents have agreed to help me pay for a lawyer.

I just asked a girl out at my work, she said yes! We're going to a haunted house tonight (she said she's never been to one). A feel better already... (well a little)

It will likely be fun, but don't give the wife additional ammunition until the paperwork is finalized.

Oh, and you might want to spend some time googling this: rebound -basketball

You'll thank me later.

I'm going to try avoiding that. I'm trying to avoiding thinking that she'll be a replacement; I just want to look forward to some fun, no strings attached.

Yah, be very careful. I know a woman who could've gotten in trouble even though he broke the vow first. Of course, he'd rather she stayed home with his kids while he lived the life so I guess she was never really going to lose custody.

Thanks for the advice. I know she wants what's best for our daughter, and I do too. I know she can change her mind, but she did say she wanted me to be a part of our daughter's life, and that just because we're not together anymore doesn't mean I shouldn't be in her life. I'm hoping she keeps true to that (at least until it's finalized in a divorce decree).

No matter what your wife says about your daughter, the divorce is all about HER (the wife, I mean).

Trust me on this one. Hell hath no fury like an immature woman who thinks she's been scorned. Or missed out on something her friends got to do because they didn't get married and pregnant at an early age.

That's the main reason she left. But, to be fair, she wanted to get married, she wanted to have a baby (marriage I thought I could handle, but the first few times she asked me for a baby I said no).

Back from the date! I had a great time. I couldn't find the haunted house, so we saw 40 Year Old Virgin instead. Great movie... and she wants to go on a second date!

Good for you! Take it nice and slow, OK?
