A cat is not going to freeze to death on a covered front porch for a few hours in a crate lined with blankets and an extra one thrown over the top.

Its hypothetical, anyhow, since A and B just came over and got the cat

You realize if B takes a shine to this cat and decides she digs cats then dies a lonely old catlady with 40 felines, all 40 will be YOUR responsibility. :p

Heh! No, I plan to die before B. She will then be the one to take care of my 40 felines plus one corgi!

I vote to take B to the shelter, with a tag around her neck which says "Unfit to live, please put out of misery immediately"

Nope. A goes to the shelter for immediate euthaniasia as she had her cat declawed.
Disgusted of Scotland.

Agree with you on the declawing thing. I would never have a cat declawed. Its a cruel form of mutilation which leaves the animal defenseless. On A's behalf, it was NOT she who had it declawed. A former roommate of A's was the original owner and the roommate had the cat declawed and then decamped, leaving the cat behind with A.

I have just returned from a visit to A and B (yes, we miraculously have remained friends), and the cat was snoozing away on A's bed, quiet content. B seems to have forgotten that she is supposedly allergic to cats, and her home is as immaculate as ever.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch. my own kitten and puppy have worked things out and are actually playing together.

I am quite fond of A. As for B, well, lets just say that someone should write up her amazing allergy recovery in JAMA or The Lancet.
