I am on my forth as well but I can simply state that the lower mid-level digital cameras are not made as well as our old metal body 35s were. Broke so far: Olympus 1.3 mp (don't even remember the model number), an Olympus D-490 (best digital I have had so far as far as crisp images is concerned, motorized lens stopped working), an Olympus C-750 (lens mechanism just fell apart inside, then camera tried to close itself and crushed the inner mechanism while cracking the outer lens) ... and finally have a Canon SD-500 now that I have already had warrantee work done on for the lens mechanism as well. I figure these cameras are good for 2-3 years if you really take it places and really use it ... and then you throw it away and buy a new one.
