My Three Rhodesians Ghurka, Congo, Simba.
Ghurka Congo, the third addition to the other two. Don't ask why we got a third. It is a long story. Our latest addition, a rescue dog, owned by my oldest college student and now boarding with us long term, Osa:

Pearl suckles like a little baby. She has this ratty old crate pad that she's always had, and she gathers a corner of it, stuffs it in her mouth, and suckles, while kneading with her paws. There's no real need to watch past the first 30 seconds.

Was she taken from her mother quite early UT or do you think it's just a comfort thing?
My boys are the first cats I've ever known who don't knead. With Diz I assumed it was because he was neutered early and stayed with the queens (and consequently his mother) but that doesn't work with Dylan who lived with the studs. Maybe it's a consequence of them growing up in a proper cat community. Oh Grandma, what big ears you have! Diz giving me the chance to look and see if his brains are in place:

Oh now that is a beautiful cat.
Pearl was taken from mom at the right age (although I forget what that is), but she's always been an anxious dog. She usually retreats to the wooly if there's nothing else to do, but she'll head for it when things are a little unusual, too, like if there's another person in the house or if somebody is acting strangely. |

My dog does that with cloth toys sometimes. Not often, just occassionally. I've seen my bro's dog (a bitch) do the same. PIlau was taken quite late (in doggy terms) from his mum, because he and Dante (mum's dog, Pil's bro) were the last two pups to be collected. We were told we could pick him up the week after we chose him, but weren't able to get up there til the end of the week rather than the beginning. So, I think he was close on 9 weeks when we collected him.
[eta] Sundae's cats are absolutely adorable. They are fascinating to watch. That beautiful colouring and sleek build makes them look like some kind of wild creatures when they are in motion. Also, very friendly and inquisitive, nce they've settled down to the idea of you being there. |

Your cats are pretty, SG. I must get a camera so I can post my kitties (Taj and Gaines the devil cat.)
And Dana? I saw Pilau pics in the other thread. Why is it that Pilau always makes me happy? He's just such a happy looking dog (course, I can't blame him in the gorgeous environment in which he romps!) Long Live Critters! |

Pilau was who they had in mind when they coined the phrase "it's a dog's life"
Wouldn't it be great! |
