Your clue sucked. Do you mean the "s" word has been guessed, the s word was a part of an answer, or the s word has been guessed within this last round?

Karo syrup is a brand of corn syrup, if memory serves

I never bought it myself, but I had some at a friend's house when I was a kid. You drink the noncarbonated syrup, and it works. Look here, under Let's get syrupy about it.
