The Snow Invader made me think of this pic of an African fertility sculpture I photographed in the St Louis art gallery.

Merc, let me just say that you rock. This is the best "what is it?" yet. I'm completely stumped.

It doesn't look like it does anything to vegetables. The tolerances are too tight to adjust to the wide variety of sizes mother nature provides there.

Something with eggs? Maybe it cleanly cuts the tops off of egg shells for soft boiled eggs? I'm just guessing here, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. I'm guessing an egg shell opener.

My friend you smoked it!

Yes it is for eggs.

It was a table tool for the time when people ate soft boiled egs from the shell when the whole egg was poached in boiling water and then placed up right pointed bit to the top, and the dinner would then cut the top of the egg off and eat the soft egg from the shell. Congrats!

So do you eat soft boiled eggs, Merc? I never had one. They seem too messy, hard to eat, and a bit yucky.

No I did not eat them. But it came from my FIL's house, my MIL is dying and we have recently cleaned out the house of all the belongings. My wife had to explain it to me as she had watched him eat them for years.
