My friend Coz runs the Tally Hall fansite HiddenInTheSand.com, and the chat function there is wonderful. It's from http://www.tufat.com/

EDIT: http://www.tufat.com/s_flash_chat_chatroom.htm, but it's five bucks.

EDIT 2: the current cellar chat has no log out feature, too, which is the reason clodfobble cant sign back in.

I can't keep logged in the Cellar via Opera. I don't even have regular powers!

I could log in, and type in the typing line, but it wouldn't post what I typed. Then, when I got out, I couldn't get back in 'cause it said I was already there.

Jeez, I go away for less than 24 hours and look what y'all do.

How about a plain old IRC server, with a browser-based client for those who can't/won't install a client of their own. It would be super if it would authenticate against the existing Cellar username/password database, but I'm sure that's way more easily said than done.

We already have a lot of security problems w/o opening up IRC, is my sense of it.

I will look for better chat software. I would like to do it without Java. It seems to me that chat is the perfect AJAX application.

Hmmm strange, I went in and out, in and out like a bad porn movie and posted my little head off (to myself mainly, but with wolf too......well...LJ posted "cock!" but thats it).

I do think we need to log in with passwords though (preferably), you can sign in as anything the way it is at the moment.

Ohhh....second thoughts....that has a lot of fun potential!!
