once at christmas time I was walking down the street and a disabled guy was trying to get into the side door of a bank, it was locked,
so I went in, found the door and shoved it open letting the gentleman into the warmth of the bank! I was about 14,

christmas + disabled + good outcome = good deed lasting 10 years

lookout123 yours it worth at least 16

Damn, lookout. You did the right thing...screw that dumbass. That sucks so bad, but maybe if the cops do get involved then children's services will also. Keep us posted.

He won't call the cops. He'll be too afraid of what will come his way if he does. Good for you for being the kinda guy that cares about others. The guy deserved to get his ass kicked.

Really glad to hear the event staff were on your side, lookout. And I agree, the guy needs more than a single ass-kicking, and I totally understand how your temper got the better of you in the situation.

But if you're looking for ways to help keep your cool in the future, it might help to remind yourself that often in these types of family situations, humiliating the dad will only lead to extra hitting of the kid later. Personally, I'd call family services on him now, before the kid's latest round of bruises fades.

I was thinking the same thing. As much as this jerk deserved what he got, calling family services would be a better approach in the future.

Me bein me here, but at what point is enough...enough?! Didn't you walk away and HE follow you? Didn't HE repeatedly violate your personal space? Didn't HE put his hands on you first? Didn't HE poke, antagonize, shove, push...you? (while you were walking away) You simply defended yourself? This guy totally deserved what he initiated. He started it, you finished it - where's the problem?
Maybe I better read your description of the events again - I gotta be missing something.

Yea, they call it aggravated assault. I don't think you have much to worry about. If you ever see him again just save yourself the time and call the cops. If he is drunk they will arrest him.

Is that not just a veiled brag? making it clear that you do in fact do good deeds? Would it not have been more seemly just to say nothing?
