It's aluminum oxide in the Etch-a-Sketches. Once the image is finished, the back is drilled out, and the aluminum is sifted out. I don't know about black glue, but that sounds good.

He'd have to glue the knobs so they didn't get turned accidentally and some way to fix the oxide to the glass against bumps and vibration

Oh, man. This would be *so* perfect for our ritual room! We've got those glow in the dark plastic stars all over it now, but this...this is just a step above!

It could be done real cheap, Els. If you make your own panels out of anything, even cardboard painted black since there's no heat, you trim most of the cost. And your own light source which is easy as a halogen lamp and a little ingenuity. The fiber optic strands are cheap. Go for it.

Oh my...no wonder the Moses bobble head has such a large cheesy grin on his caricatured little face...he's hoping to avoid getting smote for violating the very rules he's holding.

I kinda liked the Noah best, but haven't figured out why he's holding a ducky ... oh, wait. That appears to be the dove. Nevermind.

Check out this virtual tour of the new Volkswagon factory in Germany. It's all glass and very cool.
