Pro wrestler Big Van Vader, real name Leon White, passed away on June 18. His fish was heart problems. He was 63.

This guy grew up in Compton, Los Angeles. The infamous South Central. His dad (who was 6'6", mom was 4'10") was an underwater welder for the Navy, and he "invented a popular automobile hoist, which made the family wealthier and let them move to a safer neighborhood".

I wonder what kind of hoist he invented. The man's name was White, apparently, and that's all I got.

Jolting Joe Dimaggio, The Yankee Clipper, gets a base hit, it will be the last in a 56 game hitting streak. A record that still stands today.

Rae Carruth, former receiver for the Carolina Panthers, is set to be released from prison on Oct 22.

I don't wish him any bad luck, or anything, but, I hope he gets hit by a train.

MLB Hall of Famer Willie McCovey, played 19 seasons w/Giants, died Oct 31 of complications from an infection.

He hit more home runs, 231, in Candlestick Park than anyone, including one on Sept 16, 1966 that is described as the longest ever hit there.

He was 80.

NASCAR Hall of Famer David Pearson died Nov 12. No fish.

David Pearson holds second place in all-time NASCAR wins, behind Richard Petty. Pearson and Petty finished 1st and 2nd to one another 63 times.

Quote:
"Pearson could beat you on a short track, he could beat you on a superspeedway, he could beat you on a road course, he could beat you on a dirt track. It didn't hurt as bad to lose to Pearson as it did to some of the others, because I knew how good he was."

Pearson said of Petty: "I always felt that if I beat him I beat the best, and I heard he said the same thing about me."
~Wiki

David Pearson was 83.
