Ahhh yes, there it is. I was still fairly new here, had not yet become the post pariah, and realized I LIKE Flint's slightly abrasive, yet funny and intelligent, views. :p

Those were the days,

I was going to say "never mind the bollards", but it would have been the 76th time that particular light joke had been used on the Internet.

You're right! Except that I was right too because I was mostly agreeing with you!

Funny, I went back & reread it too (when Shawnee mentioned bollards). I think that's where I formed my antipathy to Flint. I'm so defensive of perceived slights against my country....

Bruce agreed with me. And Clodfobble. That's a strong enough hand for me to be able to state quite clearly that I was on the side of right.

I'll see your Bruce and Clodfobble, and raise you a Flint and a Glatt.

Nah, I have the stronger hand. I accept your Glatt, but Flint was a new poster, and one who needed to be sat on at that point. Bruce has so much gravitas that he bends light. Or am I confusing that with gravity again?

Right young lady. I've taken some time and trouble over this to convince you for once and for all it isn't the case. (If there's an automated way of checking responses to posts please don't tell me now - I sat and did a manual count)

Not that different.
Also bear in mind that in this time I was asking direct questions. And that I often interact with other Brit posters because we share similar experiences ie posting re the NHS or British schoolkids.

So there. No more claims that everyone ignores you. Shush.

OK, someone needs to devise a poker hand designation for cellarites. Does a Bruce (King of Hearts) beat a pair of Flints (Ace of Clubs)?

But you can't get a pair of Flints, see? Not unless you're playing the secret Flint from up your sleeve (naughty, naughty). To assign the Dwellars card values we'd have to agree on the game (the Queen of Spades popularity varies massivelt from game to game for example!)

I suggest instead we are a tarot deck. Shuffled and cast again and again to try to make some sense of the world. Right, I'll stop being so self consciously fey now.

You're cracking me up.

But I DO have a Flint up my sleeve, I DO, I DO! Or maybe I just dreamed that.

Just realised you had already specified the game was poker. Sorry. Well you're on your own there chick - I only know Strip Poker and after all that's actually a version of 21 so that boys can play it with drunken girls.

Don't carry flint in your sleeve! Fire danger!
